Ms. Karen and Ms. Andria

Ms. Karen is entering her 16th year of teaching and this is her 15th year of teaching Pre-K. Ms. Karen received her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education/Special Education as well as her Master's Degree in Literacy from St. Joseph's College, Brooklyn. Ms. Karen has taught in both Brooklyn and Queens, and was very excited to come to Crown Heights three years ago to be part of the inaugural team of New Bridges Elementary School. Ms. Karen loves being her students' first teacher and hopes to instill a love of learning in each and every student who comes through her Pre-K door. In her spare time, Ms. Karen enjoys bike-riding, scrap-booking, cooking and spending time with her family.

Ms. Mya and Mrs. Harris

Ms. Mya was born in Manhattan and grew up uptown in Harlem. She went to public school all her life. Ms. Mya always wanted to be a teacher and therefore ended up going to Temple University in Philadelphia PA to study Elementary Education in 2000. After teaching first grade for two years she went back to school at the City College of New York to get her Masters in Early Childhood Education and graduated in 2009. Ms. Mya has taught first grade for seven years and second grade for two years. This is her second year teaching Pre K at New Bridges Elementary, and she absolutely loves teaching and being apart of the New Bridges family. Outside of school Ms. Mya enjoys creating things like jewelry and other crafts, spending time with her nieces, nephews and her all of her god children. Ms. Mya is also an independently published Children's book author and published her first book Love You Still with her first cousin Jarell in December 2014.

Ms. Nohemi has been working with Pre-K children for 15 years and loves working with the young children and their families. This is Ms. Nohemi's second year at New Bridges. Ms. Nohemi is married and has two children, a 7 year old boy and a 3 year old girl. Ms. Nohemi loves to read and spend time with her family.
