Ms. Duncan

Ms. Duncan is in her thirteenth year as an educator in the New York City Board of Education. Over this time, she has taught First through Fifth Grades. All of the thirteen years have been spent serving the students and families of the Crown Height Community in Brooklyn. She lives by the expression “Let passion be the driving force in your life!” and believes that passion for learning and children is needed to be an effective educator. She is often amazed at her students’ ability to rise above their life challenges. While she holds herself accountable for her students’ achievement and progress, at the same time she also holds her students accountable for their own learning and growth. As a part of the New Bridges Family and Community, she believes deeply in the core vision of the school to educate the whole child and to ensure each child gets the opportunity to develop their “best self". She feels fortunate that she gets to be a part of her students’ lives as a member of the caring and passionate team of educators and staff of New Bridges.
